Diaper Time Has Never Been So Cute

August 24, 2010 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Kate in Diapers_04There is a Vietnamese phrase (mèo khen mèo dài đuôi) that tells a story about a mother cat telling her kitten that she has such a beautiful tail. I hear that phrase all the time from my in-laws after I compliment my wife or daughter… After all, as a husband and father I have the same credibility as the mother cat! I’m blinded by love?!

Nevertheless, these are the freakin’ cutest pictures of our daughter during diaper time… Don’t worry, Kate is squeaky clean in these pictures. [Read more…]

Kate Relaxes On The Patio

August 24, 2010 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Kate on Patio-5Leaving Houston’s August heat (105 degree + humidity) for sunny, cool California was just what the doctor ordered!

We spent a week traveling to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Tahoe. During our travels, the family and I were relaxing on a patio enjoying a beautiful 75 degree day. Kate is growing so fast and we found her proudly relaxing like a “big girl.” The photo opportunity was way to cute too pass up!

Here are a few pictures… I hope you’ll enjoy them. [Read more…]

2009 Gordon Thanksgiving

November 26, 2009 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Gordon Thanksgiving-22As you may know, my mom is a Gordon and one of six children… This year, Jenny and I headed to Alabama to reconnect with family for Thanksgiving. Vallie & Jeff (my cousins) hosted a fantastic Thanksgiving lunch followed by a second family reunion at my mom’s house on Friday. Needless to say, we had plenty to eat.

This trip was especially exciting since Jenny got to meet all my aunts and uncles (and spouses). We have a big, happy family and there were plenty of stories to go around. This was a great opportunity to connect with many of my cousins; some of whom I’ve not seen in years.

While in Alabama, Jenny got to tour the countryside of Springville and Jasper. Here are a few family pictures… [Read more…]

Labor Day Weekend in New Orleans

September 8, 2009 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Jenny and I spent a long weekend with our family (Jenny’s mom, dad, and sister) in New Orleans. It was a nice break from our typical crazy weekends and it afforded us a great chance to recharge the batteries. We arrived at Harrah’s Hotel & Casino in New Orleans late on Friday and came home late on Monday! Happy Labor Day Weekend!

While Jenny and I aren’t big gamblers, this trip provide time to explore New Orleans. Unfortunately, Jenny and I did not win the jackpot. I can say boldly that we won several hundred dollars; just don’t ask how much more we lost! We hit the Garden District, French Quarter, Metarie, and the Riverwalk. We both had our first (and probably last) ride on the street cars. And, we caught up on some movies while relaxing in our suite at Harrah’s. [Read more…]

Port O’Conner Fishing

July 26, 2009 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Port OConner-23Justin, Kevin, Shawn and I spent the weekend fishing in Port O’Connor, TX;just two hours from Houston. This is a small coastal town between Galveston and Corpus Christi.

We had a blast and caught some fish. Unfortunately, you won’t hear any BIG fish stories… We were fishing for speckled trout over 15 inches… much smaller than Marlins we’ve caught in the past! According to the locals, the fish don’t seem to be biting well this year. However, Bo (our guide from MS Guide Service found us the right spot to catch eleven. Sadly enough, the Department of Fishing and Wildlife allows for 10 fish per person/day.

For lunch, we took half our fish to Josie’s Mexican Restaurant. They grilled up our fish for fajitas. For dinner, we took the remaining fish to Clark’s Shrimp House for some fried fish. Good eats!

Below you’ll find some pictures and video proof that the boys caught fish. [Read more…]

Greece – Tough Economy For Locals, But Relaxing For Tourists

June 3, 2009 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

spendicusJenny and I both agree there is never a good time for vacation… These days our demanding work load, personal and professional commitments and challenging economy make it tough to “get away!’ We had a fantastic Greek adventure with great sights, tastes and memories. As always, we would wish for more time together in such a beautiful country.

Most importantly, Jenny and I feel fortunate! Greece is struggling! It’s easy to focus on Greece’s natural beauty and forget its third world status. [Read more…]

Greece – Tasty, Fresh Greek Cuisine

June 1, 2009 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Greek Food_405To say we ate well is an understatement. Throughout our trip, we ate fresh fish, tried new exotic foods, and sampled different interpretations of classic dishes.

All food is expensive in Greece. The Euro has distorted prices in Greece and created export demand for many of Greece’s staple products like fish, meat, even produce. Fresh fish is typically sold at 30-60E/kilo in Athens and the islands. Convert that to US Dollars and we pay dramatically less for much higher quality fish. [Read more…]
