Happy Anniversary

February 2, 2014 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Fall 2013 Family Pics_162804 days ago I met the love of my life at a sushi restaurant in Houston. We talked all night long about life, travels, adventure, work and there wasn’t a single lull in the conversation. Somehow, I convinced her to see me again, and again, and again…

Within six months, we were engaged and then married 612 days from that first date. Life has never been the same and adventures are still going strong. Today, we celebrate our six year anniversary! Jenny has given me our two beautiful daughters, a great life surrounded by family, a best friend who makes me better, laughter, love and so much more.

So, here’s a little recap our our last almost eight years. I love you sweetheart! [Read more…]

Kate & Sophie’s 2014 Birthday Party

Happy Birthday Kate & Sophie

_MG_9509Kate and Sophie love playing together, so we organized a joint birthday party for the girls. Together with their friends, the parents and family, we packed eighty people into Wonderwild in The Woodlands. Everyone seemed to have a great time catching air on the kangaroo jumper, dropping out of the crocodile slide and climbing through the playscape.

_MG_9520Happy birthday Kate and Sophie. You’re really growing up quickly. I cannot believe Kate is four and Sophie is now two. It’s amazing to see our girls grow up so fast. Kate is adding numbers, sounding words and excelling in school. Sophie is starting to talk in sentences and is almost potty trained. Both girls are in gymnastics, ballet, swim lessons, music and art classes.

A special thanks to grandma for the tasty cupcakes, to Uncle John for the pictures, to Holly & Vi for helping the girls run the gauntlet and to Ong Ngoai & Ba Ngoai for the delicious after-party dinner.

Here are some party pictures: [Read more…]

The Whitesels Are Coming!

October 13, 2013 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Whitesel Trip_17As we get older (and have kids), it’s inevitable that friendship gets test by time, distance and life. If we’re lucky, distance and time doesn’t rob the friendship, but strengthens it with life experience. We’re fortunate to be friends with Aaron, Amy, Sophie and Thomas Whitesel. It’s been years since we seen them, so they jumped aboard a airplane and came to play. This was the first time Kate and Sophie got to meet their new friends Sophie and Thomas.

You can tell from the following pictures that it was a jam-packed, fun-filled adventure. We visited the Texas Renaissance Festival, The Woodlands Children’s Museum and spent quite a bit of time just hanging out at the house. Here are a few pictures of our time together: [Read more…]

Happy Birthday Ba Ngoai

Happy Birthday Ba Ngoai-16Happy Birthday Ba Ngoai!

We all gathered at our house for a family birthday celebration as Marie turns another year young. The weather was perfect for grilling and a patio lunch. So, we prepared lots of good food, invited some friends and family and ordered Grotto’s Italian Wedding Cake. We’re so thankful to have Ba Ngoai and Ong Ngoai live so close.

Our menu for the day included mussels, grilled chicken, crab legs, fresh grilled corn and bell peppers, a cucumber and tomato salad, some egg rolls and fresh fruits. And, ofcourse, when our girls noticed the beautiful day, warm weather, clean saltwater pool… they determined it was time for a swim. Here are a few pictures to remember the day: [Read more…]

Sophia Tuyen Pozadzides’ Baptism

January 12, 2013 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Sophia_Baptism-16Today, we celebrated Sophie’s baptism at our church, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in The Woodlands, TX. Uncle John (Godfather) and Aunt Mary (Godmother) came as witnesses along with many of our close friends and family. Sophie did great with only a few tears.

Afterwards, we hosted a party at our house with face-painting, balloon-making professional and more than enough food to feed those gathered. Most importantly, this was a great day for Sophie and our family. We were honored to have our closest loved ones in attendance.

A very special thanks to Deacon Ralph Risk, Father Thomas F. Rafferty and the St. Padua family. Here are some pictures of the festivities: [Read more…]

2012 Thanksgiving Dinner

November 25, 2012 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

2012 Thanksgiving Meal-10Ok, what you’re about to see may seem odd. It might make you hungry! And, if you like to eat, you might consider showing up with Jenny and I hope a party. This year, we’re cooking for about 40 friends and family members. I’m pretty sure everyone left full and we’ve not heard any reports of gastric distress.

On this year’s menu, we’re having cajun turkey, lobster, brisket, stuffing, gravy, mac-n-cheese, corn, springrolls, sweet potatoes, potato salad, carrots, fried rice, rolls, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie, cheesecake, and cherry pie.

Here’s a glimpse into our holiday meal preparations: [Read more…]

2012 MDA Fellowship Pizza Party

2012 Pizza Party-1After three year, countless hours, and many sleepless nights, Jenny’s fellowship has ended. Along the way, we made some tremendous friends. Sadly, many are now moving away to pursue their Oncology careers.

Since fellowship began, we’ve tried our best to provide a home-away-from-home for these out-of-towners. To say “congrats”, we invited the team over for a little pizza party. Today, we decided to let everyone personalize their pizza and here’s a little glimpse: [Read more…]

Katherine Thuy Pozadzides’ Baptism

April 16, 2011 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Baptize Kate-21Today, our little Katherine Thuy Pozadzides was baptized at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Houston, TX. Uncle John (Godfather) and Aunt Mary (Godmother) came as witnesses along with many of our close friends and family. Father Ross (the same priest from our wedding) delivered a wonderful opening and blessing. Kate was fine with the ceremony up to the point where the Holy Water and sacred oil came out. She certainly didn’t like getting wet and contributed to the baptismal font with plenty of her own tears.

Afterwards, friends and family headed back to our house. There was plenty of food to feed everyone including a full roasted pig and beautiful cakes to celebrate the event. Above all, we’re blessed to have Kate, our family and friends in our lives.

A special thanks to Father Rossi and the St. Michael’s church for bending the rules and allowing a private baptism. Here are a few pictures of the festivities. [Read more…]

2010 Christmas Dinner Party

December 26, 2010 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

2010 Xmas-27This year, we celebrated Christmas Dinner ’10 with family and friends at our house. After our two Thanksgiving dinners, we were pretty tired of Turkey, Ham and Brisket, so we opted for Steak, Scallops, Shrimp and Fish. It was good and we have plenty of left overs to munch on for the next few days.

Joining us this year, was our grandmother (Ba Noi), Anthony, Marie and Mary (Jenny’s parents and sister), John Sr. and Tilda (my father and step-mother), Co Hong and Tam (our aunt and cousin) and Michael and Henry (our good friends). We had a great time and I’ve not received any calls alerting me of food poisoning (thank goodness). [Read more…]

2010 Thanksgiving Dinner

November 28, 2010 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

2010 Thanksgiving-7We have a tremendous amount to be thankful for this Thanksgiving season: a precious daughter, a loving family, health, fantastic friends, challenging jobs and so much more… With so much to be thankful for, we’ve hosted a few parties for which the pilgrims would have been proud!

Jenny, Kate and I hosted two big Thanksgiving dinners this year and it is safe to say, we’re tired of Turkey & the “fixins.” However, we’ve had a blast entertaining and hope our friends and family have enjoyed the feast. To put it into perspective, here’s what we cooked for the forty plus (40+) people who attended one of our two Thanksgiving parties (one for our MD Anderson friends and the others for family): [Read more…]
