Dancing At The Wedding Party

February 2, 2008 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Wedding Dance Party-73Jenny and I left the party around 11:30, but we later learned that it kept going for hours. I guess hosting a event with an open bar, music that doesn’t stop and a dance floor tends to prolong the party.

At some point during the dancing, we paused for me to find that ever-elusive garter belt. Once found and distributed, Jenny and I say our good byes.

Oh, and if you were on that dance floor, there’s a good chance you’re in one of the pictures below. While our wedding photographer flaked out of us shortly after we left, he did manage to snap a few funny ones. Young and old, there were moves from several decades and lots of smiles.

Here is the incriminating evidence. Enjoy: [Read more…]

Reception Pictures At Our Guests’ Tables

February 2, 2008 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Wedding Guest Pics-40We all had a blast! Jenny, our extended families, hundreds of our friends and I spent a great evening together celebrating our marriage.

Jenny, her parents, Lisa (the made of honor), John (best man) and I visited each table to welcome our guests. Following Vietnamese tradition, each table selected a host to offer congratulations and good wishes. Customarily, the table toasts the bride and groom with cognac, wine or other tasty adult drinks. Needless to say, after visiting thirty two tables, Jenny and I were paying much attention to our sore feet.

Here are the pictures of our table-visiting adventures: [Read more…]

Kirk’s Wedding Prep

February 2, 2008 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Kirk Wedding Prep-4A big thanks to John, Justin, Kevin & Shawn for keeping me company on my wedding day and participating in the most important day of my life. As the hours approach, the gang and I spent time reminiscing about old times and sharing advice on what to do (and not to do) to make marriage work.

It’s great having John here. He’s seen every major accomplishment in my wife and “marrying up” is definitely one of them – I’ve found such an amazing, multi-talented and loving woman in Jenny. Also, I’ve know Justin, Kevin and Shawn since college and we’ve shared some amazing adventures and the typical roller coaster of events that is college and post-college life. Leave it to Justin to show up with nerve-calming beverages. Interestingly enough, I’ve always heard about how nervous some people get before the wedding. Maybe getting married a bit older helps, but I’ve never felt more sure and right about a big decision before. I knew she was the one on our first date, so today is just the validation of that little nugget of knowledge.

Jenny’s Wedding Prep

Jenny Wedding Prep-25It’s bad luck to see the bride before the wedding. So, I’m glad there was a camera with her while Jenny and her bridesmaids (Lisa, Theresa, Annie & Kamayani) finished their wedding prep.

The girls look beautiful and it appears Jenny isn’t doubting her future options (yeah)! Ofcourse, hanging out in the Presidential Suite with a bottle of Dom Pérignon probably didn’t hurt either. Funny enough, if you look closely, the hotel left the Dom Pérignon for Jenny and I to enjoy on our wedding night. After carrying her over the threshold, I noticed the empty bottle, but it’s impossible to be mad at my bride of 9 hours. Plus, that might have been the medicine she needed to say, “I do!”

Our Wedding

February 2, 2008 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Wedding Ceremony-80Wow… She actually said, “I do!” She showed up, walked down the isle, said “for better or worse”, we exchanged the rings and the Mrs. Pozadzides kissed me. Somehow, despite her Q3 call schedule, Jenny planned an unbelievable wedding. With over 350 guests from around the country, this wedding wasn’t a walk in the party. There were plenty of days where we contemplated heading to the beach or Vegas for our nuptials, but we wanted to share this big event with our family and friends — we have alot of them!

A big thanks to Father Rossi and St. Michael’s Church. Over the last few months, we’ve been fortunate to have Father Rossi’s guidance on the real meaning of marriage. Further, his message at our ceremony was beautiful. However, nothing beat watching my wife walk down the isle — words cannot express her beauty, grace, confidence and my love for her. Thank you My Love for marrying me! Here’s to a lifetime together. [Read more…]

Post Wedding Family Pictures

Post Wedding Family Pics-12After the wedding, we spent a little time taking pictures of our family and the wedding party.

We’re so thankful that so many showed family members showed up for our wedding. We saw Jenny’s parents, sister, grandparents, most of her uncles and aunts, and loads of cousins from around the country. Plus, my immediate family and several aunts, uncles, a few cousins and several of my brother’s friends who helped raise me – just like brothers. Looking back in life, most of the people in these pictures (no matter how distant), play big roles in our life. We love you all and thank you for sharing with us this wonderful day!

Our Wedding Cakes

February 2, 2008 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Wedding Cakes-9We had amazing cakes for our wedding!

Jenny’s cake was a 5-layer french white cake with white fondant frosting, layers of fresh strawberries throughout and baked to feed three hundred people. The groom’s cake (that’s me) was a chocolate cake with chocolate fondant frosting and layers of fresh raspberries. Note: My cake was shaped as his and her suitcases with luggage tags all over highlighting the places we’ve been together.

Sadly, we didn’t even get to enjoy the cakes! In between greeting our guests, dancing and just being together, the night ended without more than bite we had while cutting the cake. Thankfully, we tried samples before the wedding and they were delicious. Everyone we’ve talked to since has commented on how fresh and tasty these french-style cakes were.

Here are some pictures to remember these tasty delights: [Read more…]

Wedding Reception Setup

February 2, 2008 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Reception Prep Pics-4Everyone we speak with about our wedding and reception remarks about how beautiful it was. And, I remember walking into the reception room prior to our guests and being caught off guard by how beautiful Jenny’s creation and plan turned out to be.

Jenny planned it all – the flowers, the chair covers, table setting, the positioning of art and photos, where the cakes and bar should be located and over other detail. Then, she continued with the Hors d’oeuvre, wine, champagne, surf-n-turf menu, cakes and party gifts. Finally, she topped it off with the a trio of violins playing during the reception.

Here are some pictures of the setup before our guests arrived: [Read more…]

Wedding Party Photoshoot

Wedding Party Photoshoot-42After the wedding and family photos, the wedding party (Lisa , Theresa, Annie, Kamayani, John, Justin, Kevin, Shawn and Jenny and I headed out for a relaxing photoshoot – more laughing and playing than posing and fake smiles.

Between the limo ride, the bottles of champagne and a few laughs, we made stops in Uptown and at the Renaissance Hotel for pictures. Looking at the photos, I’m sure you can tell that we’ve all been friends for along time.

Here are a few photos of the wedding party: [Read more…]
