We invited all of Kate’s schoolmates, our friends and family to a little party at Zunan (kid-friendly restaurant & playhouse) in The Woodlands. Kate had a blast and Sophie loved the attention of all the mommy’s who played and tickled her. Auntie spent at least 20 minutes helping Sophie play on the slide while Kate chased her classmates and climbed the rock walls and played video games.

Aunt Mary’s excellent Christmas present this year was my favorite: pictures! Some people collect baseball cards, movies, songs and other stuff — I collect pictures. So, we now have some great snapshots of our girls, Ba Ngoai (Jenny’s mom) Ong Ngoai (Jenny’s dad) and Aunt Mary.
PS: The girls love Aunt Mary. She’s fun and her eye for fashion keeps our girls looking runway ready!

Merry Christmas. Our girls aren’t old enough to wake us early to open presents. Sadly, they are young enough to simply wake us early! So, on this beautiful Christmas morning, Jenny and I witnessed the shear excitement our children gleam from ripping open gift wrap. I’m not sure they even care about the gifts inside, but they certainly love the opening process.

Boo… It’s highly unlikely that these cute little girls are going to scare you! Although, you do run the risk of “cuteness” exposure as Kate and Sophie prepare for Halloween. This year, Kate pitched her fairy costume and we [Jenny & I] couldn’t resist transforming Sophie into a beautiful flower. In retrospect, Sophie looks like she’s having about as much fun as Randy in The Christmas Story.
The Woodlands always has something to do. This year, we took the girls to a couple big community Halloween events. We broke out the Radio Flyer wagon for our great adventures throughout The Woodlands and to/from our local park. Every morning the girls come down stairs on their way to Kate’s school. They stop by my office for a kiss and then off they go.

A big thanks to Ba Ngoai and Ong Ngoai for taking the family on this Alaskan Cruise. Over the last few years, we’ve had the pleasure of traveling with our extended family included Ba Ngoai, Ong Ngoai, Co Noi, Co Hong, Aunt Mary, Aunt Tam, Jenny, the girls and yours truly.
We arrived in Seattle in time to enjoy a day/night in the city before boarding the Norwegian Jewel on July 14th for a seven night cruise. It was an amazing cruise and the only way to really see such beautiful sites through Alaska. We stopped in ports at Ketchikan, Skagway and Victoria, BC, Canada. Along the way, we traversed fjords, saw plenty of iceburgs, eagles, seaplanes and glaciers. [Read more…]
Our family cruise stopped in Victoria, BC and I’ve been dreaming of returning ever sense. While most of the disembarking cruisers headed to the restaurants, bars and shops, our family hired a driver to take us to Butchart Gardens. With one million visitors touring every year, you know there is something here to see. Plan on spending as much of the day here as possible and prepare to walk hills, steps and rough terrain. It is totally worth it to see the various sections including the Sunken Garden, Concert Lawn Walk, Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, Italian Garden and Mediterranean Garden. [Read more…]

Just in time for Easter, we’re happy to showcase our little Van Gogh’s artwork. We’re really fortunate to have a fantastic part-time nanny who just loves “art time.” It’s amazing how art can engage children and Kate is in heaven during creative playtime. Today, we celebrated Kate’s 2nd birthday and Sophia’s 1-month birthday with forty of our closest family and friends from all over the country. A special thanks to Jenny’s parents, aunt and uncle and our close friends for bringing all the wonderful food…including a fully roasted pig! Further, a big thank you to everyone who attended. It’s great to have so many people invested in our lives. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and that’s why we keep inviting you to our parties! 🙂
