Ultrasound Pictures of Kate At 37 Weeks
Today’s doctor visit brought little news other than a healthy mom and baby ready to deliver any day (37 weeks). But, we did receive three new pictures of Kate. Remember, ultrasound pictures don’t always yield the clearest images. They sometime remind me of ink blot or cloud gazing.
So… can you see (from left to right):
- the chin, mouth and bottom part of the nose as the head points to the right?
- a cross section of the heart; its much cooler watching it beat than in still image?
- a foot with five toes pointed diagonally to the top right?
Baby Shower Announcement & Big Thanks
A big thanks to our friends Theresa & Dung, Lisa and Michael & Henry for hosting our baby shower this coming weekend. We just received our shower invitation and love it. Thanks for going above and beyond.
We’re having a girl!
We’re having a girl… We’re officially due on Monday, February 8, 2010. That means, we’re officially in Week 20 and our baby is the size of a Mango (6.5 in, and 10 oz).
Baby Watch: 18 Weeks
We’re just days away from finding out if its a boy or girl. Last week’s doctor trip didn’t yield any insight into that question, but Jenny will soon have a 4D image (and maybe video) of our little angel/monster.
This week, our baby measures approximately 5.5 inches from crown to rump and weighs about 5.25 ounces. The rapid growth spurt is tapering off, but reflexes are kicking in. Our baby can yawn, stretch and make facial expressions, even frown. Taste buds are beginning to develop and can distinguish sweet from bitter tastes. The baby will suck if its lips are stroked and it can swallow, and even get the hiccups. The retinas have become sensitive to light, so if a bright light is shined on your abdomen, baby will probably move to shield its eyes.
Jenny felt the baby move for the first time last week and she [ Jenny ] is feeling pretty good!
We’re having a baby!
Jenny is pregnant!
We’re incredibly excited, but mindful that we’re still early in the game. Fortunately, Jenny is feeling well despite being a bit tired! However, I think the excitement outweighs feeling rundown!
We will keep you updated on our (or Jenny’s) progress! Until then, keep us in your thoughts and prayers… hopefully, the baby will have Jenny’s looks and intelligence.
Now to the bigger question: Is the world ready for another Pozadzides?
