February 2, 2008 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Wedding Party Photoshoot-42After the wedding and family photos, the wedding party (Lisa , Theresa, Annie, Kamayani, John, Justin, Kevin, Shawn and Jenny and I headed out for a relaxing photoshoot – more laughing and playing than posing and fake smiles.

Between the limo ride, the bottles of champagne and a few laughs, we made stops in Uptown and at the Renaissance Hotel for pictures. Looking at the photos, I’m sure you can tell that we’ve all been friends for along time.

Here are a few photos of the wedding party: [Read more…]

Happy New Year – Here’s To A Great 2008

January 1, 2008 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Happy New Year!
Kirk and I wish you all the best this new year. As we close out 2007, we have a tremendous amount for which to be thankful:

  • Time spent with friends and family…
  • Health of our loved ones…
  • Friends; both new and old…
  • Career adventures…
  • …and an upcoming wedding (just a month away)

But, we are most thankful for close calls. Sometimes it’s the close calls the provide reason to evaluate who we are, what we want and what’s most important… We’ll close out 2007 thankful for our health, happiness and a deeper appreciation of what’s important to us!

Best wishes for 2008. Make it a great year!

Bridal Pictures-15Beautiful… Elegant… Graceful… Alluring… Graceful… Sexy… Stunning… Lovely… Foxy… While I am about to marry this fascinating lady, the best part is that there is so much more to her than just looks.

Jenny is dedicated, brilliant, passionate, loving, committed, well-spoken, adventurous, romantic, generous, open-minded, calm, straightforward, resourceful, inventive, determined, fearless, funny, socialable, tough, imaginative, humorous, reliable, witty and sexy.

In just thirty-six hours, I’ll make this woman my wife. I hope you enjoy these pictures. Below Jenny in her wedding dress and her áo dài; the traditional Vietnamese ceremony dress: [Read more…]

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays…

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays…

What a holiday season for the two of us! Between Jenny’s 90-hour weeks with six total days off, and my eleven days at home, the last two months have been hectic to say the least. Top it off, we’re planning a wedding!

Despite the busy schedules, sometimes you just have to make time… This year, we were fortunate to host our families’ this holiday season.

Both sets of my parents visited in November. For Christmas, we hosted eighteen family members: Jenny’s grandma, parents, sister, uncle and three aunts, and three cousins and my brother, sister-in-law and good friend, Shawn!

To my knowledge, the appetizers, turkey, ham, pork loin, salad, potatoes, stuffing, corn, seasonal vegetables, and seven desserts produced zero “reported” stomach aches! A complaint box was present and any/all comments will be addressed in the near (that’s a relative term) future…

It was a fantastic holiday season. Here’s wishing yours was filled with time to rest, time for family and good eats! Until next year…

Airbags, Cell Phones & Second Chances

4RunnerAccident-1This week has been a roller coaster; with literal ups and downs! On Monday, Jenny and I were involved in a completely avoidable, tragic accident that almost took our lives. Here’s what happened:

While in route to the gym, Jenny and I were crossing an intersection when our vehicle was struck in the right rear by a distracted driver on her phone. Our vehicle (the trusty Toyota 4Runner) flipped five times coming to rest upside down. Neither of the front doors would open, Jenny was unconscious, gas was everywhere, but we eventually made our way out the back. We were quickly taken to Memorial Hermann (downtown) Hospital; where we would stay for two days. A big thanks to Community Volunteer Fire Department Station 3. This team arrived minutes later as I was pulling Jenny out. They even broke the rules and transported us downtown instead of down the street.

We left the hospital with numerous cuts, fractured wrists, a broken nose (Kirk), a black eye, severe rib and pelvis bruising (Jenny) and several other non-life threatening issues. Six days later, life is starting to normalize and we’re moving… albeit slowly and painfully.

The Texas Hill Country

September 5, 2007 By Kirk Pozadzides Leave a Comment

Ever find yourself in need of a weekend getaway?

Jenny and I packed up the truck and headed to the Texas Hill Country for the Labor Day weekend. Our itinerary: Austin, Fredericksburg and anywhere in between. We stayed at the historic Driskill Hotel in their fantastic “Governors Suite!” A special thanks to my friends behind the front desk there!

Arriving in the early evening, we stopped at Jenny’s favorite Mexonesian (Mexican & Polynesian) restaurant, the Hula Hut on Lake Travis.

The next day, we headed west to the quaint town of Fredericksburg. Settled long ago by German immigrants, the area is home to numerous wineries (our favorite is the Becker Vineyard), the largest boulder in the USA (Enchanted Rock State Park), and a great little Main Street perfect for spending the day.

If you’re ever on Main Street in Rustlin’ Rob’s Texas Trail Supplies, stay far away from Satan’s Blood hot sauce (800,000 Scoville). Jenny and I like to jazz our foods up with some spice, but a drop of this sauce had us literally crying for 30+ minutes…

After returning to Austin, we met up with Jenny’s Aunt (thanks for the hospitality Tina & Chris) and ate dinner at Austin’s newest chic restaurant Imperia. A tribute to Asian fusion, Imperia has a contemporary decor, great wine selection and progressive take on Dim Sum.

We had a great time in the Texas Hill Country, loved the live music and cannot wait to return. Until then…
