This year, we celebrated Christmas Dinner ’10 with family and friends at our house. After our two Thanksgiving dinners, we were pretty tired of Turkey, Ham and Brisket, so we opted for Steak, Scallops, Shrimp and Fish. It was good and we have plenty of left overs to munch on for the next few days.
Joining us this year, was our grandmother (Ba Noi), Anthony, Marie and Mary (Jenny’s parents and sister), John Sr. and Tilda (my father and step-mother), Co Hong and Tam (our aunt and cousin) and Michael and Henry (our good friends). We had a great time and I’ve not received any calls alerting me of food poisoning (thank goodness).
Unfortunately, Kate fell asleep halfway through dinner, but we have pictures of Kate’s First Christmas.
Here’s a few pictures of our gathering and of the tasty food.
Today, we watched our baby girl celebrate her first Christmas. While she won’t remember it (except from these pictures), she had a blast ripping, munching, crawling all over her new presents. Our friends and family over did it this year with their fantastic presents for Kate: tons of new books, plush toys, toys for riding and bath time play, fancy dresses and pretty cloths, sparkling jewelry, shoes and so much more.
So, we can officially add a few new favorites of Kate. She loves the Christmas lights on our tree, house and those in the neighborhood. Kate loves ripping (and sometimes eating) wrapping paper. She seems incredibly fond of chewing on small boxes containing jewelry. It goes without say, if it makes sounds and/or has flashing lights, our daughter loves it. Also, Kate has mastered posing just long enough for Jenny and I to realize we should be taking a picture…and then moving away to avoid the future embarrassment.
Here’s a few adorable pictures we snapped of the magic. Hope you enjoy! Until Christmas 2011…
There is a Vietnamese phrase (mèo khen mèo dài đuôi) that tells a story about a mother cat telling her kitten that she has such a beautiful tail. I hear that phrase all the time from my in-laws after I compliment my wife or daughter… After all, as a husband and father I have the [...]
Leaving Houston’s August heat (105 degree + humidity) for sunny, cool California was just what the doctor ordered! We spent a week traveling to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Tahoe. During our travels, the family and I were relaxing on a patio enjoying a beautiful 75 degree day. Kate is growing so fast and we [...]
We just returned from a mini-family vacation with Jenny’s parents and sister. Our travels started with a visit to Jenny’s grandparents and several aunts and uncles in Southern California. Kate is growing so fast… While staying at the gorgeous Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa on our recent vacation, we snapped some pictures of Kate [...]
