Kate Visits the Museums

Kate Visits Two Houston Museums

Alright, Kate has officially reached the fun age. She is mobile, energetic and always ready to go. Also, her independence is just starting to kick in as she’s mastered the art of walking. Now, we understand why so many parents told us to “enjoy it [her being in the stroller] while it lasts!” Nevertheless, we’re having a blast exposing her little mind to all sorts of different things. This week, we couldn’t resist hitting a few museums.

Thanks Mommy and Daddy for taking me to the Houston Museum of Natural Sciences and the Children’s Museum. To be frank, I think I prefer cute little butterflies over the big dinosaur skeletons in the other rooms at the Natural Sciences Museum. However, the Children’s Museum is my favorite place in the world and don’t be surprised if we host my 2-year birthday party there in 329 days, 20 hours, 35 minutes, and 40 seconds.

Here’s a few pictures from our trip.

We’re pretty sure she had fun. Thankfully, we have a happy, active kid.

Ultrasound Pictures of Kate

by Kirk Pozadzides on January 14, 2010

Today’s doctor visit brought little news other than a healthy mom and baby ready to deliver any day (37 weeks). But, we did receive three new pictures of Kate. Remember, ultrasound pictures don’t always yield the clearest images. They sometime remind me of ink blot or cloud gazing.

So… can you see (from left to right):

  1. the chin, mouth and bottom part of the nose as the head points to the right?
  2. a cross section of the heart; its much cooler watching it beat than in still image?
  3. a foot with five toes pointed diagonally to the top right?
